iQOO Neo 12 arrived in China on October 28 and OnePlus Ace 7 followed on October 29, so they're direct rivals built for gaming. According to Gizmochina, the core question for reviewers is simple, do you want the iQOO's sharper 2K screen or the OnePlus's LTPO panel and camera setup, and which active cooling approach works better in practice.
iQOO Neo 12 vs OnePlus Ace 7 review roundup: what critics say
What Reviewers Liked
- According to Gizmochina, the iQOO Neo 12's 6.83-inch AMOLED hits 3200 x 1440 and 514 PPI, so it's visibly crisper than the OnePlus with roughly 4.6 million pixels against 3.5 million.
- According to Gizmochina, the OnePlus Ace 7's LTPO panel dials from 1Hz to 165Hz in normal use and can push to 185Hz in games, which gives it more room to save power.
- According to Gizmochina and Qoo10 Teknologi, both phones use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-series chip with LPDDR5X Ultra, UFS 4.1 and Adreno 840 graphics, plus a built-in cooling fan and a 9,000mAh battery with 100W charging.
- According to Phoenix Network Testing, endurance was strong on both in its battery-death test, the iQOO Neo 12 ran 13 hours 15 minutes and the OnePlus Ace 7 ran 12 hours 23 minutes.
- According to LandGadget, OnePlus's Dual-Path Glacier Air-Cooling System sends air along two routes, one over the chip and one over the back panel, and vents heat away from your fingers when you hold it sideways to game.
Where Reviewers Found It Falls Short
- According to Phoenix Network Testing, neither phone cracked the top 100 in its 100W fast-charging ranking even though both support 100W wired charging.
- According to Gizmochina, the OnePlus Ace 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series (SM8850-1-AB) while the iQOO Neo 12 uses the standard version, and reports have called the V Series a binned part with a smaller GPU, though OnePlus lists the same Adreno 840 name and 1.2GHz clock.
Display: 2K Resolution vs LTPO Range
According to Gizmochina, iQOO fits a 6.83-inch AMOLED at 3200 x 1440 and 514 PPI, OnePlus goes with 6.78 inches at 2772 x 1272 and 450 PPI. And both can hit 185Hz in supported games.
According to Gizmochina, OnePlus rates the Ace 7 for LTPO from 1Hz to 165Hz in everyday use plus 185Hz for games. For brightness, Gizmochina says iQOO claims 2,200 nits full-screen peak while OnePlus lists 2,000 nits peak and 1,000 nits default maximum.
According to Gizmochina, the OnePlus screen also does 3840Hz PWM dimming and carries TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Comfort 6.0. The same report says the iQOO Neo 12 uses circularly polarized light 2.0, has TÜV Rheinland eye-protection certification and offers a 1-nit sleep screen.
Performance, Gaming Features and Cooling
According to Gizmochina and Qoo10 Teknologi, you get LPDDR5X Ultra and UFS 4.1 on both, the iQOO Neo 12 runs the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the OnePlus Ace 7 runs the V Series variant. OnePlus says the architecture is the same on both chips.
According to Gizmochina, iQOO adds a Q3 gaming chip for ray tracing, super resolution and frame interpolation, and says it can push supported titles at 2K and 185fps with all three on. OnePlus spreads that work across three chips, the T3 for touch, G3 for networking and P4 for display, and says the T3 lifts touch accuracy by 24%.
According to Gizmochina, iQOO quotes 5,000Hz instant touch sampling and 500Hz multi-finger, OnePlus quotes 520Hz multi-finger and 800Hz gyroscope sampling in game mode versus 500Hz on the Neo 12. Qoo10 Teknologi cites the same 520Hz vs 500Hz multi-finger and 800Hz vs 500Hz gyro numbers.
According to Gizmochina, iQOO says over 50 titles support native 185fps on the Neo 12, OnePlus says close to 40. Both published hour-long claims too, OnePlus says the Ace 7 averaged about 184 to 185fps in Delta Force for an hour, iQOO says the Neo 12 averaged 185fps in Call of Duty: Mobile for an hour. Gizmochina points out the games and test setups weren't the same.
For cooling, according to Gizmochina, the iQOO Neo 12 packs a 17 x 17mm fan with low noise, intelligent and high speed modes that moves up to 9,770 cm³ of air per minute at max, plus a 3D vapor chamber iQOO says boosts heat dissipation by 15% over the Neo 11. According to Gizmochina and LandGadget, OnePlus takes a different route with its Dual-Path Glacier Air-Cooling System, one path runs over a 14-layer fin stack on the chip with a 1,264 mm² exchange area and the other runs over the back cover, backed by a 6K vapor chamber OnePlus says adds another 40% to heat dissipation. OnePlus also says its backward-curved blades push 40% more air at the same noise and the fan uses a dust-resistant build that cleared a 24-hour test.

Design, Build and Water Resistance
According to Gizmochina and Mezha, the Neo 12 is 163.42 x 75.89mm and the Ace 7 is 162.30 x 77.37mm, so the OnePlus is a touch shorter but about 1.5mm wider. Thickness and weight shift with the finish, iQOO is 8.50mm to 8.67mm and 225g to 229g, OnePlus is 8.50mm to 8.59mm and 217g to 223g.
According to Gizmochina, the OnePlus Ace 7 uses an aluminum frame and Oppo Crystal Shield glass up front, Midnight Black and Glossy White get fiberglass backs while Tempered Fire gets a sandblasted glass back with a gradient metal frame. The iQOO Neo 12 comes in Shadow Black, Frostblade Blue and Contender, and the Contender finish shifts with the viewing angle.
According to Gizmochina, the OnePlus Ace 7 is rated IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K, the iQOO Neo 12 is rated IP68 and IP69. iQOO also says the Neo 12's fan module has passed IPX8 and IPX9 tests.
Price and Availability in India
The iQOO Neo 12 launched in China on October 28 and the OnePlus Ace 7 launched in China on October 29, according to Gizmochina. India pricing isn't announced.
The Takeaway
On paper these two are almost twins, but the split is clear and it's going to annoy anyone who wants both. If you care about pixel density and want a 1TB option, the iQOO's spec sheet is hard to ignore, if you want LTPO smarts and a 200MP main camera with tougher water ratings, OnePlus has the edge. Phoenix Network Testing's numbers tilt toward iQOO for CPU, GPU and endurance while OnePlus nudged ahead in Genshin Impact 3.0, so the real test hasn't happened yet. Wait for a same-game, same-settings showdown, that's where the fan designs will actually prove themselves.
