Xiaomi's taken the wraps off the REDMI Book 2027 in China. You've got two sizes, Intel's new Wildcat Lake silicon built on the 18A process, and a pitch that leans hard on thin metal bodies and big battery numbers for office work and video.

Design and Display

Both sizes use an aluminum alloy shell on the A, C and D sides. Xiaomi's offering a few colours. And the footprint tells you exactly who each one's for. The 14-inch comes in at about 1.28 kg and 13.95 mm, so it's the one you'll actually want to toss in a bag every day. The 16-inch is about 1.56 kg and 14.35 mm, still thin but clearly built for desk time.

Xiaomi's shared the most detail on the 16-inch screen. It's a 16:10 panel, 2560x1600, 120Hz. That's a real step up from the 60Hz you got on older REDMI Books, scrolling looks smoother and that taller ratio gives you more room for docs and timelines. Brightness is rated at 400 nits with full sRGB coverage, plus DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland low blue light and flicker-free certifications.

Ports don't make you hunt for dongles. You get two full-function USB-C 3.2 Gen2 ports, HDMI 2.1, two USB-A and a 3.5 mm jack. Those USB-C ports handle data, display and charging over one cable. HDMI 2.1 means you can plug straight into a monitor or TV.

Performance and Battery Claims

Under the hood it's Wildcat Lake on Intel's 18A process. Choice is Core 5 320 (6 cores, 6 threads, up to 4.6 GHz) or Core 7 350 (6 cores, 6 threads, up to 4.8 GHz), both with Intel Graphics. They're paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X-7467. That memory's fast and frugal, which helps keep multitasking snappy and gives the integrated graphics a bit more headroom than slower DDR5 would.

Cooling uses dual fans and 10 mm heat pipes. Xiaomi claims it holds a steady 30W. That's the company's number for sustained output, not a third-party test.

Battery is where Xiaomi's making the loudest claims. The 16-inch has a 72Wh pack (68.3Wh rated) that Xiaomi says hits up to 19.5 hours in its simulated office test and more than a full day of local video playback. The 14-inch is rated by Xiaomi at up to 20.2 hours. Again, those are Xiaomi's lab simulations, not independent results. One report also points to 68W fast charging.

Software side, you get Super Xiao Ai 2.0 for AI features and hooks into Xiaomi's ecosystem for cross-device tricks.

Price and Availability in India

Sales start in China on November 3, 2026. The REDMI Book 14 2027 begins at 6,799 yuan (around $1,019) for the Core 5 320 with 16GB and 512GB, topping out at 7,999 yuan (around $1,199) for the Core 7 350 with 16GB and 1TB. The REDMI Book 16 2027 starts at 6,999 yuan (around $1,049) and tops out at 8,199 yuan (around $1,229) for the Core 7 350 with 16GB and 1TB.

Early buyers in China get a 20,000mAh power bank thrown in. India pricing and availability aren't announced yet.

Who It's For

If you want thin and light with a sharp, fast screen on a budget, the 16-inch REDMI Book 2027 looks like the value play here. That 2560x1600 120Hz panel and Xiaomi's punchy battery claims are the hook. Need something you won't notice in your backpack? Grab the 1.28 kg 14-inch. But if Xiaomi can actually deliver close to those 19-plus hour numbers outside its lab, this lineup will undercut a lot of pricier ultrabooks without trying very hard.
