## Early impressions

[Gizchina](https://www.gizchina.com/reviews/vivo-x500-pro-review) says the vivo X500 Pro combines a 50-megapixel triple camera system, a 144Hz display and MediaTek's [Dimensity 9600 Pro](https://gadgeek.in/specs-features/mediatek-dimensity-9600-pro-benchmark-leak-af6e17) in a compact body. It lists three 50MP-class rear cameras including a 64MP telephoto, an adaptive 1-144Hz AMOLED display and a large battery with fast charging among the positives.

[Digital Trends](https://www.digitaltrends.com/phones/vivo-x500-pro-hands-on-first-impressions/), which spent a couple of days with the phone, said it challenged initial reservations about losing the larger 200MP telephoto found on the Pro Max and about OriginOS. The outlet praised the build quality and dual-tone design, described the 6.36-inch display as bright and vibrant with razor-thin uniform bezels, and noted the fast, conveniently placed ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. It said OriginOS surprised more than the hardware.

[La Stampa](https://www.lastampa.it/tech/2026/11/02/news/vivo_x500_pro_e_pro_max_alla_prova_quando_lo_smartphone_guarda_lontano-15785902/), which tested the vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max in Tenerife from whales off the coast to the starry sky of Teide, said the Pro Max stands out for its gimbal-type optical stabilisation for video. It said the vivo X500 Pro retains much of the range's character in a more compact form with its 64MP telephoto and 6,510mAh battery, and highlighted the collaboration with ZEISS, the optional kit with 200mm and 400mm telephoto extenders and grip, and video recording up to 4K 240 fps with a Log profile.

[GSMArena](https://www.gsmarena.com/vivo_x500_pro_in_for_review-news-75209.php), which has taken the vivo X500 Pro in for review alongside the X500 Pro Max, said the global vivo X500 Pro ships without a charger, with a case and a USB-A to USB-C cable, while the 90W charger is seemingly reserved for the Pro Max. It said the phone does not feel small despite its 6.36-inch diagonal and feels thick and substantial due to the 6,510mAh battery, and described it as all-flagship from its IP68/IP69 build to the 2nm [Dimensity 9600 Pro](https://gadgeek.in/specs-features/mediatek-dimensity-9600-pro-launch-eed28d) and 12GB of RAM.

## Design and build

[vivo has listed the vivo X500 Pro](https://www.vivo.com/en/products/x500-pro) as a Compact Powerhouse with a 6.36-inch display and 7.95mm thickness, with a metal module, tideline design and chamfer frame in aerospace-grade aluminium. [Gizchina](https://www.gizchina.com/reviews/vivo-x500-pro-review) lists dimensions of 151.78mm tall and 71.92mm wide, weight of 192g or 197g depending on finish, and thickness of 7.95mm to 8.12mm depending on colour.

Colours listed by Gizchina include Earth Echo, Sunny Day, Sunset Glow and Night Photography, while vivo's official listing shows Sunset Orange, Sunny White, Starry Gray and Moonlit Black. Both Gizchina and La Stampa note IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance under specified test conditions.

[GSMArena](https://www.gsmarena.com/vivo_x500_pro_in_for_review-news-75209.php) noted the premium, well-protected build, which it said feels reassuring and more secure in the grip.

## Display and sound

vivo has listed a 6.36-inch AMOLED panel with 2660 x 1216 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 144Hz, with HDR support and 10-bit colour. Gizchina notes the same resolution and refresh range.

Vivo has listed a 50MP ZEISS TrueDynamic main camera with 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.57, 24mm equivalent focal length and 1.5-degree gimbal-grade OIS with CIPA 7.0 professional stabilisation and vivo Camera-Bionic Spectrum 4.0. It is joined by a 64MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera with 1/2.0-inch sensor, f/2.52, 85mm equivalent, CIPA 7.0 stabilisation, autofocus, ZEISS T* coating and 18cm minimum macro focus distance, and a 50MP ZEISS ultra-wide camera. A 50MP front camera is also listed.

Gizchina lists the same three rear cameras with 3.5x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation on the main and telephoto, with all three supporting autofocus, and apertures of f/1.57, f/2.52 and f/2.0. Vivo also details a vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 offering 200mm equivalent reach, weighing 153g and 96mm long with a 15G precision optical structure, described as portable telephoto stability.

Vivo's Philippines announcement notes the series uses the BlueImage Dynamic Imaging Technology Stack and supports 8K video recording, 4K slow motion, 4K 240 fps high frame rate video, 4K cinematic portrait video, 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video, 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding, ACES support and six cinematic colour styles.

## Performance and software

Vivo has listed the [MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro](https://gadgeek.in/leaks/mediatek-dimensity-9600-pro-2nm-arm-c2-193ba3) with an eight-core CPU built on a 2nm process and Mali-G2-Ultra-NX GPU, with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Gizchina lists the same memory options. [La Stampa](https://www.lastampa.it/tech/2026/11/02/news/vivo_x500_pro_e_pro_max_alla_prova_quando_lo_smartphone_guarda_lontano-15785902/) notes the vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max share the same processor, charging technology, IP68/IP69 ratings and 4K up to 240 fps video recording.

The phones run OriginOS 7, which vivo says brings cross-ecosystem connectivity. La Stampa notes OriginOS 7 debuts with multi-window multitasking, tools to maintain fluidity over time and Quick Share for file transfers, with an interface increasingly reminiscent of iOS. Vivo has listed a 6,510mAh BlueVolt Battery with 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging for the vivo X500 Pro. Gizchina lists the same 6,510mAh, 90W wired and 40W wireless figures for the China model, while noting battery capacity differs between listed regional versions.

## How it compares

Against the previous generation, the vivo X500 Pro moves to a smaller 6.36-inch display compared with the rumoured 6.81-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED 1-120Hz panel of the vivo X300 Pro, and to a larger 6,510mAh battery compared with the rumoured 5,500mAh. Charging is listed at 90W wired and 40W wireless compared with rumoured 100W wired and 50W wireless, and the chipset steps to the Dimensity 9600 Pro from the rumoured Dimensity 9400 — all X300 Pro figures as previously reported by GadGeek as rumoured.

The camera system shifts from a rumoured 50MP Sony LYT-900 main to a triple 50MP, 64MP and 50MP ZEISS setup. The vivo X300 Pro was rumoured at ₹69,990 for 16GB/512GB.

Within its own series, the vivo X500 Pro sits between the standard vivo X500 with a 6.59-inch screen noted by GSMArena and the vivo X500 Pro Max with a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display. The Pro Max adds a 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto, vivo V3+ and VS1+ imaging chips and the larger battery. The series was unveiled at a global launch in Shanghai on September 21, 2026, according to vivo Philippines.
